FURTHER DOWN Whether one refers to the writing, recording, and release of two studio albums, the hundreds of gigs at many of Pittsburgh's most respected concert venues, the once-hopeful talks with independent affiliates of Universal Records, the privilege of playing the kick-off party for the Rolling Rock Town Fair, or opening for various national acts, it's easy to see why these five local guys from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania are so grateful for all
that they've experienced. Lead singer Justin Ryan, whose vocals were used in various studio projects (including a radio jingle for the Sheetz
convenience store chain), has also been seen in the Spike TV original series “The Kill Point” (featuring Donnie Wahlberg and John Leguizamo) and on the big screen in the recently released “Adventureland” alongside such popular actors as Ryan Reynolds, Kristen Wiig, and Bill Hader.

The band had spent two weeks at the top of Oh Rock Station 99.7 on a call in program, beating out several national acts

THE SPEEDS
Over the past few years, The Speeds have played every conceivable venue in their hometown, toured relentlessly throughout the Northeast, and licensed their tracks to nearly a dozen high-profile television shows. The band has received airplay on hundreds of radio stations across America and reached millions of listeners in Europe through BigFM. Powerpop pundits have showered their "New Vintage" sound with praise and they win every contest they enter. With the late addition of Rusted Root sideman Dirk Miller, the enhanced lineup recently performed on the MTV Choose or Lose Tour and finished a slew of new tunes set for an exclusive limited digital release in 2009.
